Professional Indemnity Insurance for Doctors (Individual) of IPS

This insurance applies to a legal claim arising out of bodily injury and/or death of any patient caused by or alleged to have been caused by error, omission or negligence in professional services rendered or which should have been rendered by the insured doctor or his/her qualified assistants named in the policy or any nurse or technician employed by the insured doctor.

3. Surgical procedures related to line of specialization i.e. Dentistry and Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge

1. Cosmetic Surgery(Eg: Orthognathic Surgery) is not covered in the policy.
2. Hospital Procedures under General/Local Anesthesia done in Operation Theater.

National Insurance Company Limited is offering Indemnity Limits ranging from Rs 25,00,000/- to Rs 1,00,00,000/- on highly discounted rates of premium for the member doctors of IPS. A discount of 75% on base premium rates are offered for member doctors. Policy can be opted by individual doctors by remitting the premium directly to National Insurance Company Limited. Clinical practice rates of premium are applied to Surgical procedures. Every care is taken to include all Dentistry surgical procedures in consultation with Executive Committee of IPS. Please refer to agreement copy for list of Dentistry/ surgical procedures.

Premium payable (Including GST of 18%)

1. Fill up the proposal form by logging into IPSONLINE.In ( sample form is attached for ready reference) and submit it .
2. Quote the membership number of IPS in the proposal form. Quote the State Dental Council Registration number in the proposal form. Quote the Qualification details
3. Select the Annual Limit and Per Event Limit Ratio . Select the limit carefully; please compulsorily fill your mobile number and e mail ID Correctly. After the proposal form is verified by insurer( takes a minimum of 24 hours) a payment link is sent to the proposer mobile number and e mail ID. The link is active for 6 hours after sending it and you can complete the payment online.

National Insurance Company Limited, which is a Government of India Undertaking, has pan India presence. Once the policy is issued, it will have a Customer ID. Based on this customer ID, the policy is serviced by any office of National Insurance Company Limited on Pan India basis. The Policy will also be available in your ipsonline.in after you login.

1. Any criminal act or acts committed in violation of law or ordinance
2. Services rendered while under the influence of intoxicants or narcotics
3. Any procedure not related to the professional practice of doctor
4. All cosmetic procedures covered in the rules and can be referred in Downloads.
5. The policy does not cover liability assumed by the insured doctor by agreement

1. The doctor should give notice to the company as soon as any claim is made against him which forms the subject of indemnity under the policy
2. Every claim, writ, summons or process and all documents relating to the event shall be forwarded to the company immediately on receipt
3. The doctor should give all information and assistance to properly defend the case
4. If there are multiple policies, contribution clause will be applicable

These charges are called Defense costs. The company will pay all costs, fees and expenses incurred with the consent of the company in the investigation, defense of settlement of any claim made against the insured doctor. Reimbursement of Defense costs will be within the annual indemnity limit chosen by the insured doctor.
