Brigadier (Dr) M Mandamparambil Viswambaran

Brigadier Mandamparambil Viswambaran, a graduate of VMS Dental College, Salem (1992), was commissioned in the Army Dental Corps in June 1994. He did his MDS in Prosthodontics from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune in 2002. He completed a fellowship in Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from Tsurumi University School of Dental Medicine, Japan in 2010.

He is the recipient of Lt General Master Medal from AFMC(2002). He has been bestowed with COAS commendation (2003), Strategic Force Commendation medal (2016), and Director General Coast Guard Commendation (2018). He is also the recipient of Professor PK Baskar Award from VMS Dental College as a distinguished alumnus (2019).

He is a recognized postgraduate teacher of MUHS and Delhi University in Prosthodontics. He has been associated with 8 Research projects, pertaining to various aspects of Prosthodontics and Military Dentistry. He has made 40 presentations at various National and international conferences. He is well-published and has 62 papers in various national and international medical and dental journals. He has conducted 21 Continuing Dental Education Programs as Chief Mentor in various national conferences.

He has held various important appointments including Commanding Officer Military Dental Centre, Jabalpur (2012-2015), Professor in Prosthodontics at ADC R&R, Delhi Cantt (2015-2019), Brig DS(E&S) at Office of DGDS, AHQ (2019 -2020), Commandant AFIDS, Bangalore and Dental Advisor, Air Force (2020-2022). He assumed the appointment as Deputy Commandant, Command Military Dental Centre (Southern Command) Pune and Prof & HOD, Dept of Prosthodontics, Armed Forces Medical College from 13 Aug 2022.
